Literature Text

All around me are stories,
I watch people write them with their foot steps.
Relive them with their mouths.
Confess them with there pens.
Real or imagined
Comic or tragic
We tell them all the same.
In time altered to be larger than life
Or hidden in the years that keep stacking.
Many just lost in translation.
I want to know them all.
My ears are greedy for the plots
Lived by my peers and ancestors.
I want to know how life has treated you.
The way a sunset is seen in your minds eye.
Feel love, loss, fear, joy through your words.
I want to live all the lives I was spared from, or deprived of.
I want to understand something other than myself.
Fill the gap that lies invariably between us. Of time, space and circumstance.

Lets spin a web of words,
Like a dream catcher.
We'll hang it over the world.
Then when we're all dead and gone we'll have our library.
Maybe then we'll understand what all this mess was about.

I think,
That God likes jigsaw puzzles
And I think
He gave us all a piece.
If only I could manage to put it all together.
If only I were more than just one speck.
If only, if only.
This poem started out with direction then just sort of went it's own way.
